Ukraine uses drones on contact line for second day running in violation of Additional Measures

Donetsk, Aug 13 – DAN. Ukrainian forces used an unmanned aerial vehicle in the Kominternovo village area in the south of the Donetsk Republic on Thursday, in violation of the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire in Donbass, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported.

“At 15:02, a quadcopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to Ukrainian armed formations was sighted over the Kominternovo village,” the report said.

Reports on Wednesday said that the Ukrainian army used a drone in the Gorlovka area in violation of the additional ceasefire control measures.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. A ban is imposed on the use of any armaments, including small arms by Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR, as well as on the deployment of hardware to the frontline, mining and further organizing of positions. The document also prohibits the use of any aircraft and envisions effective use of disciplinary action against ceasefire violators.*jk
