Ukrainian forces shell western Donetsk with 80 rounds, use mortars – JCCC

Donetsk, May 5 – DAN. Ukrainian armed formations on Tuesday morning shelled the Staromikhailovka settlement in the western outskirts of Donetsk using mortars, the Donetsk Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination said.

“At 06:20, Ukrainian armed formations delivered a strike on the Krasnogorovka-Staromikhailovka axis,” the JCCC said. “Seven 82mm mortar rounds, 40 BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle cannon rounds and five BMP-1 cannon rounds were fired.”

“At 8:15, Staromikhailovka came under fire again. The enemy used grenade launchers and small arms, including large calibre machine guns. On top of that, three anti-tank rocket propelled grenade launcher rounds were fried at the settlement.  At 09:05, Kiev forces fired ten 120mm mortar rounds and 20 BMP-2 cannon rounds at Staromikhailovka. Overall, 86 rounds of ammunition were fired at the settlement, the JCCC said.

Damage assessment is underway.

Earlier reports said that three children and a man were wounded as Ukrainian army units shelled the Alexandrovka neighbourhood in western Donetsk.*jk
