Ukrainian forces shell DPR territory from Shumy, area of massive engineer works

Donetsk, Dec 14 – DAN. Ukrainian army opened grenade launcher fire targeting Shakhta 6/7 north-west of Gorlovka, the DPR mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) said.

The attack was reported at 5 a.m. originating from Kiev-controlled Shumy.

Kiev derailed a scheduled joint inspection of Shumy on September 10 aimed at probing engineer works in the area, as Donetsk accused Ukraine of equipping and extending their positions towards the Severskiy Donetsk – Donbass water duct arch in violation of the Additional Measures.

The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
