Reopening border with Ukraine can deteriorate COVID-19 situation – DPR Health Minister

0
Donetsk, Jun 10 – DAN. Reopening of checkpoints on border with Ukraine might lead to deterioration of COVID-19 situation, the DPR Minister of Health Olga Dolgoshapko said.

“If we reopen the crossing points in the current situation the COVID-19 situation can spin out of control,” she said speaking at a joint briefing with representatives of the Foreign Ministry and State Security.

She said that Ukraine conceals the true number of cases and it is unreasonable to reopen the border right now.

On March 14, the DPR went on high alert in connection with the threat of the coronavirus infection spread. Both DPR and LPR closed the border with Ukraine. Today Kiev announced a unilateral reopening of the Maryinka and Stanitsa Luganskaya checkpoints. *ot
