DPR prosecutors file criminal case against Ukrainian brigade commander involved in causing civilian casualty

Donetsk, Sep 20 – DAN. The Donetsk Republic Prosecutor General’s Office initiated criminal proceedings against Ukrainian army’s 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade commander Maxim Marchenko who might be involved in wounding a resident of Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district, the PGO press service reported on Friday.

“A criminal case was filed over the shelling of Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district by Ukrainian forces,” the report said. “The suspect is 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade commander Lt-Col Maxim Marchenko.”

The investigator said that Marchenko issued an order on September 19 to shell the Trudovskiye neighbourhood in Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district. A civilian was wounded in the Ukrainian forces strike.

The case was filed under DPR Criminal Code Article 229, Part 2 (act of terror).*jk
