DPR militia ready to observe new ceasefire in Donbass – Basurin

Donetsk, Dec 27 – DAN. The Donetsk Republic Militia is ready to adhere to the Donbass ceasefire accord effective from December 29, Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“The DPR Militia has always strived for a peaceful conflict settlement,” Basurin said. “That is why we fully support the security subgroup’s preliminary agreement on the ceasefire starting on December 29.”

“I state with conviction that as before, we’re fully ready to observe the truce,” Basurin said.

Earlier reports said that the Contact Group security subgroup, at a video conference on Thursday, agreed a tentative date to introduce the ceasefire in Donbass: 01:01, Moscow time, December 29. The DPR expressed the hope that the Contact Group would finalise the date of the new ceasefire in the nearest future.*jk
