DPR Central Bank issues 1.5 mln payment cards to residents over four years

Donetsk, May 30 – DAN. Donetsk Republic residents have activated 1.5 million payment cards issued by the Republic’s Central Bank over four years, the Central Bank press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“The Bank has issued some 1.9 million payment cards since the Processing Centre was launched; of those, customers have activated about 1.5 million cards,” a press service representative said.

DPR residents have activated more than 270,000 payment cards since the beginning of this year, she added.

The Bank test-launched the payment card system in mid-June 2015 and successfully completed the test in August 2015.*jk
