Donetsk, Jun 4 – DAN. The Donetsk Republic has evidence of Kiev’s war crimes against humanity in Donbass; Ukraine must not avoid the responsibility for its atrocities, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said on Thursday.

“June 4 is International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. This date is a reminder that such atrocities must no be left unpunished,” Pushilin said. “We have complete evidence of Kiev’s war crimes against humanity for which Ukraine has to be held responsible.”

Ninety-one children have been killed and another 261 have been wounded in the Republic since the beginning of the conflict, Pushilin said. Ukraine is a signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (adopted in 1989); Kiev pledged to take “all possible measures towards protecting and caring for children affected by armed conflict,” he reminded.

In 1982, the UN General Assembly decided to commemorate June 4 as International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, as it was “appalled at the great number of innocent Palestinian and Lebanese children victims of Israel’s acts of aggression.” *jk
