DPR introduces fines and jail terms for spreading fakes on COVID-19

Donetsk, May 4 – DAN.  DPR lawmakers have adopted the laws introducing penalties for spreading fakes on COVID-19.

The law was passed by 93 votes.

An official spreading fakes is now subject to the fine of 100-50,000 rubbles; an entrepreneur is  subject to the fine of 1,000 – 100,000 rubles.

Fines for false reports on COVID-19 will be fined for 300,000 – 2,000,000 rubles or punished by community service for the period of up to five years, or could be jailed for the same period if the misinformation led to a death or serious consequences. *ot
