Kiev forces shell Vasilyevskaya pumping station prompting evacuation
Donetsk, Apr 26 – DAN. Ukrainian armed formations opened fire on the Vasilyevskaya pumping station outside Yasinovataya, prompting staff evacuation, the DPR Mission to the JCCC said.
“The Vasilyevskaya first-level pumping station of the Yuzhnodonbasskiy water duct came under fire, staff has taken to shelter, details on damage are being clarified.”
The shelling took place at 10.20 a.m., two mortar mines of 82 mm caliber were fired, small arms were also used.
“The DPR Mission to the JCCC requested additional safety guarantees from the Ukrainian side to re-establish the ceasefire,” the mission said.
Vasilyevskaya pumping station is located in the Vasilyevskoye village outside Yasinovataya. It is connected to the Yuzhnodonbasskiy water duct providing water to residential areas on both sides of the contact line. It regularly becomes target of the Ukrainian fire.
