Ukraine deploys Buk-M1 missile systems, T-64 tanks to Donbass – intelligence

Donetsk, Dec 1 – DAN. Four Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile systems of Ukrainian armed formations have been spotted at the Armyomovsk railway station, the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia reported on Tuesday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations have deployed 39 pieces of armaments and hardware next to residential areas and municipal facilities, in violation of Item 3 of the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire in Donbass,” the report said.

Four Buk-M1 systems and 12 T-64 tanks were seen at the Artyomovsk railway station, 12 T-64 tanks in Konstantinovka, and eight armoured scout cars (BRDM-2), two infantry fighting vehicles (BMP-1) and one multi-purpose light armoured towing vehicle MT-LB were seen in the settlements of Romankovka, Talakovka and Novosyolovka.

Commissioned in 1983, the Buk-M1 system can counter aircraft, helicopters and ballistic missiles at altitudes up to ten kilometres in the condition of electronic countermeasures.

According to one of the versions, the Malaysian Airlines plane which flew from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur in the summer of 2014 was downed with a Buk missile. There were no survivors among the 298 people on board.

The culprits behind the tragedy have not been identified up to date. Kiev blames the DPR and Russia for the crash. The DPR People’s Militia repeatedly stated that it had no such systems in service. The DPR Prosecutor General’s Office reported that it had proof that the Ukrainian army was involved in the tragedy.*jk
