Shumy area joint inspection to prove effectiveness of additional ceasefire control measures – JCCC

Donetsk, Sep 9 – DAN. The inspection in the Shumy settlement area outside Gorlovka, to be conducted jointly with Ukraine, will show the effectiveness of the additional ceasefire control measures in Donbass, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported on Wednesday.

“We are confident that this joint inspection will be a convincing demonstration of the effectiveness of the additional ceasefire control measures to which the parties committed themselves, and the coordination mechanism at work” the report said.

At 14:00 on Wednesday, after mine clearance events, head of the DPR Office at the JCCC Ruslan Yakubov will cross into the Ukraine-controlled territory of the DPR to carry out an inspection together with Ukrainian representative at the JCCC. The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission will take part in the inspection. An act of inspection will be drawn. Inspection details and logistics are being discussed.

“The photo and video evidence available to us which captured certain actions, were repeatedly sent to the OSCE SMM and Ukraine. The photos clearly show that trenches were dug out recently,” the JCCC said.

Kiev, at the extraordinary Contact Group video conference earlier on Wednesday agreed to an inspection of the stretch of the contact line next to the Shumy settlement outside Gorlovka where new Ukrainian army fortification built in violation of the additional ceasefire control measures had been spotted recently. Following the accord, DPR Head Denis Pushilin cancelled his order to have these fortifications destroyed by the People’s Militia.*jk
