Over 500 DPR residents in self-isolation amid COVID-19 threat – Ministry

Donetsk, Mar 26 – DAN. No coronavirus cases have been diagnosed in the Donetsk People’s Republic so far; almost 600 people are in self-isolation or hospitals, the DPR Healthcare Ministry reported on Thursday.

“As of 9:00, March 26, no COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the DPR territory,” the Ministry said. “A total of 589 people are currently under medical supervision including 87 in hospitals and 502 in self-isolation at home.”

On March 14, the DPR went on high alert in connection with the threat of the coronavirus infection. The persons arriving from COVID-19 affected countries are ordered to go into 14 day self-imposed quarantine at home from the date of arrival.

The number of the infected across the world is reaching half a million people, according to the latest reports. Some 21,500 people have died and another 1,235 remain in serious condition.  The countries with the largest coronavirus death toll are China, Italy and Spain.*jk
