Kiev’s signing Steinmeier formula is victory for DPR, LPR – Nikonorova

Donetsk, Oct 1 – DAN. The signing of the Steinmeier formula in Minsk on Tuesday became a major diplomatic victory for the Donbass Republics, Donetsk People’s Republic Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova said.

“Despite the abundance of extremely destructive statements by Kiev, we still managed to convince it to coordinate the Steinmeier formula as it was set forth at “Normandy Four” summits,” Nikonorova said. “It is a truly major diplomatic victory at the Minsk talks, in the first place because it offers prospects for further political settlement.”

The Ukrainian representatives “met all Russia’s conditions for holding the “Normandy Four” summit, so it might take place in the nearest future,” she said.

The Contact Group signed the Steinmeier formula earlier on Tuesday. It puts in operation the law on special status of Donbass, the key document for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the region. *jk
