Pumping station area comes under Ukrainian army fire, personnel hides in shelter – JCCC
Donetsk, Dec 19 – DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled the Donetsk Water Treatment Plant (DFS) area on Thursday; the personnel is in the shelter, the Donetsk Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported.
“From 16:35 to 16:45, Ukrainian armed formations in Avdeyevka fired towards Yasinovataya and Spartak using mortars, automatic grenade launchers and large calibre machine guns,” the report said. “As the Donetsk Water Treatment Plant area came under fire; its personnel hid in the shelter because of the threat to their life and health.”
The DPR Office at the JCCC asked Kiev for additional security guarantees to establish a stable ceasefire.
The DFS area outside Yasinovataya is a hot spot in Donbass. The DFS supplies water to the DPR-controlled Donetsk and Yasinovataya and the Vasilyevka and Spartak villages, and the Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and Verkhnetoretskoye settlements.*jk
