DPR resident sentenced to 14 years in prison for espionage

Donetsk, Dec 9 – DAN. A DPR resident has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for spying in favor of Ukrainian security service, the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office press service said.

“A criminal investigation by the DPR Ministry of State Security revealed that Stavtsev E.Yu. was visiting DPR in June-October 2017 on assignment of a foreign intelligence to collect data, photos of objects of SBU’s interest, pass the data to Ukrainian special services via Internet.”

The criminal case was reviewed by the DPR Supreme Court Appelation Chamber and the defendant was sentenced to 14 years in maximum security correctional facility.

The sentence has come into force. *ot
