DPR officials discuss launching trade mission in Syria

Donetsk, Sep 24 – DAN. The Donetsk Republic might open its permanent trade mission in Syria, DPR Head Administration first deputy chief of staff Gennady Lebed said on Tuesday following a visit to the Syrian Arab Republic.

“In Syria… we established valuable relations which we have to develop,” Lebed said. “I believe that we created groundwork for expanding our business presence in Syria, so a permanent trade mission might be one of the possible ways to realise it.”

Earlier reports said that the DPR and Syria had preliminary talks over deliveries from Donbass of industrial products and food and IT software assistance. The parties also reached accords on implementing a number of joint projects.

A DPR delegation took part in the international exhibition and investment conference Rebuild Syria which was held in Damascus on September 17 – 21.*jk
