Yenakiyevo residents to bring damages suits against Ukraine at ECHR
“Ninety-four apartment houses in Yenakiyevo were damaged in the fighting, including House No 12 in Brailyan Street,” Butorkina said. “The Commission reviewed the appeals from 16 tenants of that house who want to lodge their claims at the ECHR.”
Direct hits at 2nd and 3rd floor destroyed load-bearing concrete slabs and walls, collapsed a staircase and damaged windows. Eleven apartments became unfit for human habitation. The total sum of damage reaches 26.8 million rubles, she said.
The public commission for assessing the economic damage caused to the Donbass population by Ukraine was set up in Donetsk in November 2019. The decision to set up the commission was made by a group of activists from the Donetsk and Lugansk Republic at a public meeting.*jk
