DPR’s COVID-19 crisis centre urges residents to return from Ukraine, crossing points might close

Donetsk, Mar 17 – DAN. The Donetsk Republic’s 2019-nCoV crisis headquarters has recommended the DPR residents staying in Ukraine or Ukraine-controlled parts of Donbass to return home as the crossing points on the contact line might close.
“Due to the worsening epidemiological situation in Ukraine and a possible increase in the number of 2019-nCoV cases there, the DPR might close its border crossing and customs control points,” the crisis headquarters said on Tuesday.
It recommended the DPR citizens to cut short their sojourn in Ukraine. “We urge the DPR permanent residents who are currently staying in Kiev-controlled territory to return home as soon as possible,” it said.
Earlier reports said that the DPR Head Denis Pushilin had put the Republic on high alert in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. As of now, the epidemiological situation in the country is under control; the DPR Healthcare Minister has the necessary equipment and test kits to diagnose the diseases caused by the new type of coronavirus. The Republic also launched a range of 2019-nCoV preventive measures.*jk
