DPR State Post issues metal stamps with Stalin and Brezhnev portraits

Donetsk, Dec 25 – DAN. DPR State Post has issued a new collection of postal stamps, this time metal ones, commemorating Joseph Stalin and Leonid Brezhnev.

The obverse features post payment sign No 171 and No 231, Stalin and Brezhnev, respectively.

The reverse displays the State Post trademark.

The stamps are 35 mm in diameter and weight 23 grams. The number of copies is 400, the price is 850 rubles.

The Post said that the stamps are for collections only, they cannot be used to send letters.

Earlier the DPR Post issued the “Outstanding People” stamps series featuring Joseph Stalin, under whose leadership the USSR won the WWII and became one of the world’s most powerful states; Vladimir Lenin, an outstanding revolutionary and politician; Leonid Brezhnev, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Council. *ot
