Kiev’s commitment to disengagement may become a step towards peace – Nikonorova

Donetsk, Nov 8 – DAN. Kiev’s commitment to disengagement agreements in Petrovskoye can become a major contribution to the peace settlement, said DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.

Earlier Ambassador Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and to the Contact Group, issued a statement saying that the disengagement is expected to begin on November 9.

“If it happens it will be a big step towards implementation of the Normandy Four instructions and a certain signal of Ukrainian authorities’ attempts to embark on the peace settlement,” Nikonoroca said.

She thanked Ambassador Sajdik for the efforts to achieve agreement with the Ukrainian side and emphasized that the DPR is fully ready for a symmetrical disengagement of forces and hardware on the agreed day. *ot
