DPR dismisses Kiev’s claims on having adopted amnesty law

Donetsk, Oct 18 – DAN. Ukrainian claims that the country has adopted laws on amnesty (of persons involved in the events in Donbass) differ from reality, said DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.

Earlier on Friday Ukrainian deputy foreign minister Vasily Bodnar said that Kiev had adopted all instruments for an amnesty, as stipulated by the Minsk Agreement, and supposedly will be implemented after elections in Donbass.

“Ukrainian foreign ministry strives to persuade the international community that it is committed to the Minsk Agreements, despite obvious facts that prove otherwise. Claims on adoption all necessary laws on amnesty have nothing in common with the reality,” Nikonorova said.

She said that Bodnar was probably speaking of a law passed by the Verkhovnaya Rada in 2014 but was never signed by the parliament’s chairman. Moreover, the document was adopted without consulting Donbass Republics.

“We become increasingly aware that new Ukrainian authorities have no political will to settle the conflict as they make provocative statements on decline to prolong the law on the special status of Donbass,” Nikonorova said.*ot
