Donbass proves it is worth Great Victory in WWII – Pushilin

Donetsk, Jun 24 – DAN. Donbass people made an outstanding contribution to the Nazism defeat during the WWII and the Great Patriotic War, the DPR Head Denis Pushilin said.

“Seventy five years ago the most bloody war in the human history ended by the Soviet Soldiers triumph. The total and shameful defeat of the Third Reich, which brought half of Europe to its knees, was made possible only by unity and courage of a huge country. Today we pay homage to the winning people, their holy feat, we have an unpayable debt to those who sacrificed themselves for the peace on Earth. High price was paid for the Victory. Donbass people made their decent contribution,” he said.

During the Great Patriotic War, 456,000 Donbass natives were fighting against Germany, 275 were attributed the Hero of the Soviet Union title.

Pushilin warned against the rising Neo-Nazism, saying that “Kiev ignores harsh lessons of the past and has unleashed a war against Donbass”.

“We are forging our victory day by day, our defenders make the day of the victory closer. It is inevitable as 75 years ago, justice is on our side,” DPR leader said.

The Victory Day Parade took place in Donetsk today joining 2.5 thousand people and 110 military equipment pieces.

Traditionally the Parade is held on May 9 to commemorate the ending of the Great Patriotic War and victory over Nazism in the WWII. This year the festivities were postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. *ot
